Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine reported, that in 2024 admission to full-time study under a contract was canceled and the rules regarding the renewal of studies in postgraduate studies were adjusted.
"Entry to graduate school this year will be carried out exclusively by state order, while budget places will be twice as many, to give the opportunity to everyone who really wants to get a doctor of philosophy degree (and not just to avoid mobilization through graduate school), to do it with full support from the state. Admission to postgraduate study under a contract this year will be possible only in correspondence and evening forms", the ministry informed.
Regarding changes to the Procedure for admission to higher education in 2024:
- The EVI (unified entrance exam) is kept for all entrants to graduate school, but the weight of its components changes during the calculation of the competitive score. Therefore, everyone who registered for the EVI in 2024 will complete it.
- Admission to entrance exams in all higher education institutions and scientific institutions requires an EVI score of 160 points.
- Regarding EVI in the foreign language part, the applicant's score may not be taken into account in the competitive score during admission to graduate school. This will be decided at the discretion of the institution / institution, which may take into account the foreign language exam or set its own exam. Instead, the score obtained as a result of taking the EVI in the foreign language part remains mandatory for admission to master's programs.
In part of the special order of the Ministry of Education, the following innovations are foreseen:
- Admission to postgraduate studies in 2024 is possible only for full-time study by state order. Important: in 2024, it is not possible to enroll in full-time post-graduate studies under a contract.
- The number of budget seats is increasing from the traditional 3200 to 7000.
- According to the contract, extramural and evening forms remain (the latter - both by state order and by contract). Important: evening and extramural forms of education do not provide for deferment from mobilization.
- Transfer from other forms of education to full-time education will not be available.
- Resumption of full-time studies is allowed only for persons who are not conscripted, as well as other categories that are legally allowed to interrupt studies (pregnancy, military service, doctors, etc.).
