war

For the first time, sociologists recorded a decrease in the share of those who are ready to endure the war as long as necessary. At the same time, the majority of Ukrainians (63%) answer in the affirmative. This is evidenced by survey data KMIS.

According to the survey, in September-October 2024, 15% of respondents said that they were ready to endure the war for several months, and 4% - for half a year.

Compared to February, from 3% to 6%, there were more people who talk about one year, that is, 69% of Ukrainians talk about a relatively long period.

From the beginning of the invasion to February 2024, the situation practically did not change: consistently around 71-73% answered that they were ready to endure the war as long as it would be necessary (and another 2-3% said 1 year). In the same period, 18-21% talked about a shorter own margin of safety (several months to a year and a half).

Between February and October 2024, sociologists for the first time record a decrease in the share of those who are ready to endure as long as necessary.

As Anton Hrushetskyi, deputy director of KMIS, noted, "despite all the difficulties and objective grounds for an uncertain future, despite growing fatigue, most Ukrainians are determined to fight as long as necessary."

The Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) conducted its own survey from September 20 to October 3, 2024, among 2004 respondents. The sample did not include residents of territories that are temporarily not controlled by the authorities of Ukraine.
