Airport closures following drone attacks on May 6-7 disrupted the plans of at least 60 passengers. At least 350 flights were affected. About this write The Moscow Times citing data from the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).
"This delay will trigger further delays in a domino effect," – warned ATOR, urging citizens to check information about their flights.
In particular, about 50 flights were canceled at Vnukovo alone, and another 45 were delayed for more than an hour. 43 planes were redirected to other airports — Pulkovo, Minvod, Ufa, Perm, Saratov, etc. At Sheremetyevo, about 100 flights were canceled and at least 50 were delayed. Domodedovo canceled 20 departures, and more than 70 flights were delayed in arrival.
Aviation restrictions affected not only Moscow, but also the regions: Sochi, Kazan, Kirov, Nizhny Kamsk, Kaluga, Volgograd, Saratov, Samara, Ivanovo, Yaroslavl, Tambov, etc. Internet outages were also recorded in more than 30 cities in Central Russia.
Aeroflot, Rossiya, Pobeda, S7, Ural Airlines, Nordwind, NordStar, and Azur Air announced the merger or cancellation of flights.
