"We present the next generation of humanoid robots - the all-electric Atlas robot, designed for real-world applications. The new Atlas, based on decades of research, confirms our ability to create the most skilled and useful mobile robots that solve the most complex tasks in modern industry", - the statement says.
The presentation video itself is quite short and does not reveal all the capabilities of the robot. The only thing that is obvious is that he is able to get up from a lying position on his own and move like a human.
Boston Dynamics is an engineering company specializing in robotics. She is known for many developments, in particular, the four-legged robot BigDog.
Among others is the six-legged robot RiSE, capable of climbing vertical surfaces.
In December 2020, the Japanese SoftBank, which at that time owned Boston Dynamics, agreed to sell the company to the Korean automaker Hyundai. Currently, Boston Dynamics has about 500 employees.
