Due to the increase in the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections, the epidemiological threshold has been exceeded in five regions of Ukraine. The so-called "local quarantine" may be applied in these regions. About this reported at the Ministry of Health.
Exceeding the epidemic threshold has been recorded in Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi and Chernivtsi regions.
"In these regions or individual settlements of the region, by decision of the regional commission, the TEB and the National Emergency Situations Committee may apply enhanced anti-epidemic measures, the so-called "local quarantine". In particular, this concerns distance learning in certain classes in schools, educational institutions, limiting the number of visitors in institutions, and other anti-epidemic measures," - explained in the Ministry of Health.
They noted that in total, 171 people fell ill in Ukraine over the past week, 068 of them were children. This is 104% more than the previous week. However, this number of patients is typical for the middle of the epidemic season and does not exceed the epidemic threshold calculated for Ukraine.
The increase in the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections is due to the circulation of influenza viruses in 22 regions of the country. It is predicted that by April the influenza virus will prevail over the coronavirus.
