Head of the "Our Care" center Denis Sokolov: How to support a patient in the rehabilitation process

Unexpected and unpleasant situations can happen in the life of every person, the result of which can be clogged places, fractures, dislocations, operations or other unpleasant moments that require further recovery of the body. Most musculoskeletal injuries require immediate surgical intervention or conservative treatment. However, a very important point on the way to recovery is immediate rehabilitation after injuries, which involves various methods of recovery. Experts claim that half of the success of trauma treatment depends on post-traumatic rehabilitation.

"The physical rehabilitation center in Odesa "Nasha Turbota" provides comprehensive support to patients who have suffered serious illnesses, operations or complex injuries on the way to full recovery, - says Denis Sokolov, head of the center. "The consultation of a rehabilitator allows you to draw up a competent recovery plan taking into account the specifics of the disease or injury, the general physical and mental state of the patient, as well as the individual characteristics of his body."

The consequences of sustained injuries can affect the normal functioning of the body for a long time. If a person is immobilized for a long time, there are serious disturbances in the work of the circulatory system, the work of individual organs is disturbed, muscle atrophy and contracture develop. All this can be avoided thanks to a timely and correct physical rehabilitation program.

"Thanks to the physical rehabilitation program, the patient will be able to quickly return to the usual rhythm of life and physical activity, including sports," adds Sokolov. — The rehabilitation center is aimed at systematically returning a person to their former physical activity through the performance of certain exercises, reducing pain symptoms, accelerating regenerative processes in damaged tissues and organs, controlling and preventing edema, restoring the normal functioning of the cardiovascular system, and general strengthening of the body."

It is important to understand that physical rehabilitation will be most successful if the recovery process is started as early as possible. A competently prepared plan of exercises and their selection according to the individual principle allow to increase the efficiency of recovery. Physical rehabilitation after stroke, fractures or surgery must be done continuously. Only then will the effectiveness of its use be noticeable, and the person himself will be able to recover quickly.

"When rehabilitation is required after a TBI, fractures, operations or stroke, it is very important to use several methods of patient recovery, which are selected individually," explains Sokolov. "The rehabilitation center "Nasha Turbota" uses in its work only methods of evidence-based medicine recommended by clinical guidelines: modern methods of rehabilitation, as well as those that have proven their effectiveness over many years."

Physical therapy under the guidance of specialists is an excellent method of rehabilitation after a spinal fracture and other serious injuries. In the initial stages of recovery, respiratory gymnastics and exercises aimed at preventing contractures are actively used, adding more complex exercises over time. Rehabilitation after multitrauma can additionally include massage and other methods that help improve the patient's condition and gradually increase his physical capabilities.

The head of the "Our care" center notes that the psychological support of the patient, as well as his relatives and friends, is also important. Thanks to the home rehabilitation program prepared for each patient before discharge and the active educational work of specialists with family members, even after discharge from the center, the patient can continue to do the exercises suggested by the doctor, which will help him recover as quickly as possible after the injury.
