Online National rating platform new rating agency study published "ElitExpert" regarding the largest pharmacy chains in Ukraine. The experts relied on a number of key criteria that allow them to objectively determine the positions of participants in the market.
First of all, the experts analyzed scale of networks – the number of pharmacies across the country and regional coverage. This indicator is critically important, as large companies have more opportunities to shape pricing policies and conclude profitable agreements with suppliers. No less important was the criterion sales volume – which companies sold the largest number of medicines and what market share do they control?
Special attention was paid to growth dynamics, because it is important not only to maintain positions, but also to develop. Therefore, the rating includes pharmacy chains that are actively expanding their business - opening new points, absorbing competitors, and investing in the development of technologies.
Finally, the experts considered ownership structure pharmaceutical giants – who is behind the business, what management schemes are used, what financial instruments are involved. After all, the Ukrainian pharmaceutical market is not only about health, but also about very big money, and therefore, control over the largest pharmacy chains is a strategic resource.
So, which of the networks is in the lead, and who is rapidly increasing volumes?
1. "Plantago"
Podorozhnyk is firmly established in the first position, controlling 2 pharmacies, which is 823% of all pharmacy outlets in the country. This chain is not only the largest in terms of the number of outlets, but also ranks first in terms of sales volumes, providing 15% of the total turnover of medicines.
In recent years, Podorozhnyk has been actively buying up competitors, significantly strengthening its influence. In 2024, the company completed a major deal to acquire the Zdorova Rodyna chain, which allowed it to further strengthen its position. Unlike a number of competitors, the chain is a purely Ukrainian family business - its owners remain Oleksandr Fedechko, Yaroslav Fedechko and Nina Fedechko, registered in Lviv.
2. «9-1-1» («Гамма-55»)
The second place is held by the network "9-1-1" ("Gamma-55"), which currently owns 1 pharmacies, covering 813% of the market. In terms of sales volumes, this pharmacy operator is also among the largest - it accounts for 10,07% of all medicines sold.

3. ANT ("Magnolia Pharmacy")

In total, the chain has 1 pharmacies, which allows it to occupy 429% of the market.
Despite the fact that ANC is inferior to its competitors in terms of the number of pharmacies, it is among the leaders in terms of sales volumes, ahead of many competitors. The main owner of the business is Konstantin Puchin, who controls 90% of the shares. A small share belongs to Artur Kadushkin, and Andriy Akhtyrsky, previously mentioned as a co-owner, no longer appears in official documents.
4. "We wish you health" ("Sirius-95")

5. "Good Day Pharmacy" ("Pharmastor")
The fifth place in the list of leaders is occupied by the network "Apteka Dobrogo Dnya" ("Pharmastor"), which has 1 retail outlets, covering 123% of the market. Despite not having the largest number of pharmacies, the company confidently holds 6,24% of sales volume, which makes it an important player in the pharmaceutical market.
Unlike other large chains, Good Day Pharmacy is the only company in the ranking that is managed through an offshore structure. Its main owner is the Cypriot Farminvest Holdings Ltd, and the key beneficiary is Igor Chervonenko, who runs the business from abroad, mainly residing in Israel and the UK.
Thus, it can be stated that at the beginning of 2025, the Ukrainian pharmaceutical market remains in the hands of several key players. Despite competition, only the five largest pharmacy chains account for over 70% of the total turnover, influencing not only the availability and cost of medicines, but also the formation of the country's pharmacy infrastructure.
