Head of the Verkhovna Rada's Budget Committee, Roksolana Pidlas noted, that in the event of an increase in expenditures not supported by revenues in the 2025 budget, the International Monetary Fund will demand an increase in VAT from Ukraine.
"In particular, we have an understanding that in case of an increase in expenses that are not covered by real incomes, the IMF will demand from Ukraine an increase in VAT by at least 2 percentage points." - said Podlasa.
She added that there will be no significant changes to the 2025 budget, and the project has been agreed with the IMF.
In addition to spending on the army, the budget for 2025 includes funds for servicing the state debt, which will increase by almost UAH 108 billion.
"Out of the need for $38,4 billion in international funding, we have confirmed only a little over $15 billion. That is, we need to FIND and also borrow more than 23 billion dollars. - writes the deputy.
