The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has increased the electricity tariff for the population. This is reported by sources and Ministry of Energy.
At its meeting on May 31, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the decision to extend the provisions on the imposition of special duties (PSO) on participants in the electricity market, according to which a single fixed price for individual and collective household consumers is established at the level of UAH 4,32/kWh until April 30, 2025. This was announced by the Minister of Energy Herman Hlushchenko following the results of the meeting.
It should be noted that the tariff was expected to be differentiated depending on monthly volumes. In particular, for the consumption of up to 100 kWh, it was proposed to leave the current price at 2,64 hryvnias, and for each subsequent kilowatt to raise it to 4,8 hryvnias.
In addition, during the heating period (from October 1, 2024 to April 30, 2025) preferential tariff for consumers who use electric heating installations at the level of UAH 2,64/kWh (when they consume up to 2000 kWh of electricity per month during this period).
With "night rate" (when a suitable two-zone meter is installed) will be UAH 2,16 per kWh.
"Tariff increase is a difficult but necessary step. The goal is not to be left without power, to maintain the system. A large-scale reconstruction awaits us, which will require enormous efforts and funds. All this time, the repair campaign at the generation, distribution and transmission facilities continues. Unfortunately, we understand that the shelling of energy facilities by the enemy will continue, and we must use all possible resources," — Herman Galushchenko said.
The minister noted that in the conditions of a difficult economic situation due to the war, it is impossible to allow the price of electricity for the population to rise to the market level (almost 7,5 hryvnias/kWh), but even the state in these conditions does not have the opportunity to maintain an ultra-low preferential price for everyone consumers After all, the tariff for electricity in the amount of UAH 2,64 covered only a third of the real cost of electricity.
Judging by the draft resolution, which posted People's Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak, there will be a differentiated approach to the heating season for those with electric heating.
Such consumers will pay UAH 1 per kilowatt from June 30 to September 4,32. And from October 1 to April 30 — depending on the volume of consumption.
The monthly volume of up to 2000 kWh during the heating period will be charged at 2,64 hryvnias per kilowatt.
If the meter shows more than 2000 kWh, you will have to pay a tariff of 4,32 hryvnias, and for the entire amount consumed (without cheap kilowatts up to 2000 kWh).
