EC

On Wednesday, June 19, the European Commission proposed a budget for 2025, which provides for 15,2 billion euros of macro-financial support for Ukraine. This is stated on the website of the commission.

According to the proposal, 4,3 billion euros will be available to Ukraine in the form of grants under the Ukraine Facility program, and 10,9 billion euros will be available in the form of loans.

In general, the annual EU budget proposed by the commission for 2025 has a volume of 199,7 billion euros.

The draft budget for next year is part of the long-term EU budget adopted at the end of 2020 with amendments introduced in February 2024.

The annual budget for 2025 must be officially approved by the budget authority before the end of the year.

We will remind you that the European Commission recently ordered the creation of the Audit Board of the Ukraine Facility - a control body for the funding of the European Union, which is allocated within the framework of this mechanism to prevent fraud, corruption, conflicts of interest and violations.

The body will operate until June 30, 2028 and will consist of three members appointed by the European Commission from among citizens of EU countries.

On March 20, the European Commission transferred to Ukraine the first tranche of the Ukraine Facility in the amount of EUR 4,5 billion.
