The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated 1,6 billion hryvnias for the purchase of 460 school buses. Thanks to the subsidy, communities will be able to purchase new transport or replace those destroyed as a result of the war. About this reported the press service of the Ministry of Economy.
It is noted that purchases will be made through the Prozorro Market e-catalog.
According to Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko, the School Bus program is also an important part of the Made in Ukraine policy.
"It not only allows children from remote villages to get to schools, but also stimulates Ukrainian enterprises to expand production, create new jobs, and allows them to produce products with high added value," - she noted.
The subvention funds will be directed to those regions where the most children need transportation to school, but do not yet have such an opportunity. The state will cover from 70 to 95% of the cost of buses, depending on the financial capacity of the community. The remaining costs will be compensated by local budgets.
First of all, buses will be provided to military lyceums whose students are not provided with accommodation and need transportation; schools whose transport was destroyed as a result of the war or transferred to the needs of the army; schools that educate students from communities where institutions are damaged or destroyed; support schools that will be established in 2025, and others.
