"Ukraine had its own key conditions to the "Big Seven" (G7) regarding the allocation of $50 billion", - said the head of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, Serhiy Marchenko, on the air of the telethon.
First of all, Marchenko offered to wait for the communique based on the results of the G7 leaders' summit. After that, technical work will begin, which will help structure the decision on the allocation of funds correctly. Kyiv, in turn, was also involved in solving this issue and had its own key conditions:
- Ukraine should receive funds this year;
- funds must be unconditional;
- the funds should be directed to any goals and expenses that Ukraine needs.
"We were listened to and I hope that this will be implemented in the technical solution that we are currently discussing. In addition, it allows the main track - asset forfeiture - which we also insisted on, to move." - added the minister.
According to Marchenko, without a decision on the allocation of 50 billion dollars, the year 2025 looked absolutely open for Ukraine not only in terms of military expenditures, but also social and humanitarian ones.
"We did not have the assurances that were needed. Now, we have received these assurances, I hope, and the technical teams will work out these solutions, and then we have the prospect of forming a budget for 2025 so that it provides for all the expenses we need." Marchenko said.
