Russia's revenues from oil and gas sales fell by 12% in April compared to the same month last year, write Reuters with reference to the Russian Ministry of Finance.
According to the agency, oil and gas revenues in April amounted to 1,09 trillion rubles ($13,49 billion), which is less than 1,23 trillion rubles in April 2024, but slightly more than 1,08 trillion rubles in March 2025.
The decline in revenues was due to a sharp drop in oil prices. In the first quarter of the year, oil and gas revenues fell by 10,3% compared to last year, reaching 3,73 trillion rubles. Russia has seen a steady decline in oil prices, which is hampering its ability to finance military spending in Ukraine.
The Russian Ministry of Finance in April lowered its forecasts for oil and gas revenues for the current year from 10,94 trillion rubles to 8,32 trillion rubles due to the fall in oil prices.
