Russia pledged its economic future - Sullivan

Sullivan

US President Joe Biden's national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, assessed the state of the Russian economy in recent weeks, noting that its "alarm bells" have started ringing louder.

That's what he's about said during a conversation at the National Defense Forum of the Reagan Foundation.

Sullivan noted that recently President Biden instructed him to increase military support for Ukraine, as well as to increase pressure on Russia.

"And if you look at the Russian economy now, in recent weeks, you will see that the alarm bells are starting to ring much louder. Russia has really mortgaged its economic future." said Sullivan.

According to him, Kyiv's military support and economic pressure will be the tools that can be used at the upcoming peace talks, which would ensure Ukraine's future as a sovereign and independent state.

"I cannot accurately predict how the war will end, just as I cannot dictate to either President Zelensky or Ukrainians how it should end." - added Sullivan.

The other day, Jake Sullivan promised to transfer hundreds of thousands of additional artillery shells, thousands of rockets and hundreds of armored vehicles to Ukraine by mid-January.
