Today, during his unannounced visit to Kyiv, US President Joe Biden announced the provision of a new military aid package for Ukraine worth 460 million dollars.
"The package announced today includes ammunition for HIMARS and howitzers, more Javelin, anti-tank systems, aerial surveillance systems to protect the Ukrainian people from bombing," the US president said.
This is the 32nd military aid package since August 2021, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced on February 20.
The press service of the US Ministry of Defense published a detailed list of aid to Ukraine. It will include:
additional ammunition for the HIMARS rocket launcher system;
- 155 mm caliber artillery shells;
- 120-millimeter mortar shells;
- four radar systems;
- additional Javelin ATGMs and explosive shells for them;
- about 2000 anti-tank missiles;
- four Bradley infantry fighting vehicles;
- two tactical vehicles;
- Claymore anti-personnel mines;
night vision devices,
means of communication; - medical devices;
- spare parts for equipment.
As of February 20, the amount of US aid to Ukraine amounted to $30,4 billion, reported in the Pentagon.
Recall that that on Monday, February 20, the US president visited Ukraine for the first time since the beginning of the war - a few days before the anniversary of the Russian invasion. Biden left a note in the guest book of the Mariinsky Palace.
"It is a great honor for me to be in Kyiv again to express solidarity and friendship with the freedom-loving people of Ukraine. Mr. President, please accept my deepest respect for your courage and leadership. Glory to Ukraine! Joe Biden," he wrote.
