In 2024, Ukrainian ferroalloy enterprises reduced their output by 49,4% compared to the previous year, to 108,2 thousand tons. About this reported the Ukrainian Association of Ferroalloy Manufacturers.
In particular, over the past year, production has decreased as follows:
- silicomanganese – by 45%, up to 104,2 thousand tons;
- ferromanganese – by 66,5%, up to 3,6 thousand tons.
The output of ferrosilicon (recalculated at 45%) and other ferroalloys was 0,12 tons and 0,28 tons, respectively. There was no production of metallic manganese and manganese concentrate last year.
It is noted that last year, the industry's enterprises reduced exports of ferroalloys by 4,5 times - to 77,3 thousand tons from 344,2 thousand tons. The largest importers are Poland (27,4% of deliveries in monetary terms), Turkey (21,5%) and Italy (19,8%).
The Ukrainian Association of Ferroalloy Producers noted that due to low production volumes, high electricity costs, and declining product prices on global markets, the general sentiment in the industry is negative with an element of uncertainty.
