From January 1, 2025, the minimum wage in Poland has increased to 4666 zlotys or $1 at the current exchange rate per month gross (before taxes). The minimum hourly wage also increased: from 132 zlotys and 28 zlotys to 10 zlotys and 30 zlotys per hour, reported the Polish radio.
For comparison, the minimum salary in Ukraine is 8000 hryvnias per month or $190 at the current rate of the NBU (after paying 18% personal income tax and 5% military tax, the employee will receive 6 hryvnias "on hand").
In general, the minimum wage in Poland has increased twice over the past two years. From January 1, 2024, it amounted to 4242 zlotys, and from July 1 - 4300 zlotys. In 2023, respectively - 3490 zlotys from January 1 and 3600 zlotys from July 1.
As reported, from March the minimum pension in Poland will increase from the current 1780,96 zlotys gross per month (1620,67 zlotys net, that is, how much pensioners receive) to 1884,61 zlotys gross (1715 zlotys net).
At the current hryvnia exchange rate, a Polish pensioner will receive a minimum pension equivalent to UAH 17. In Ukraine, the amount of the minimum pension is UAH 551 per month for people with a sufficient number of years of experience and UAH 3370 for people with insufficient experience.
We will remind, previously the Minister of Finance Serhiy Marchenko explained that the state budget of Ukraine for 2025 does not provide for raising social standards, as the country does not have such an opportunity.
Also, the Ministry of Finance today informed, that the average salary in central state bodies amounted to 62 thousand hryvnias, and increased by a total of 61%.
