The Parliamentary Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy recommended that the Verkhovna Rada adopt as a basis and in its entirety the draft law on renaming kopecks to shags. This was stated by the head of the committee, Danil Hetmantsev, in Telegram.
"We recommended to the Verkhovna Rada for adoption as a basis and as a whole a fundamental and stunning reform on renaming the kopeck into a shag," — his post says.
Only one coin in circulation will be replaced - 50 "steps". Currently, there are almost 1 billion 400 million such coins in Ukrainian circulation. At the same time, the National Bank needs to mint them every year to maintain the quality of cash circulation.
