Mobile operator Kyivstar has signed an agreement to acquire 97% of the corporate rights of IT company Uklon, which develops an online platform and mobile application for ordering cars. After signing the agreement, the companies will remain separate businesses, and the Uklon team, led by CEO Sergey Grishkov, will continue to work on developing products and services in their markets. The deal is expected to close in April 2025, subject to customary closing conditions. The deal was valued at $155,2 million, VEON said.
This investment will be an important step for Kyivstar in developing its digital ecosystem and scaling its business, as well as in fulfilling VEON's investment commitments of $1 billion by 2027.
For Uklon, the deal opens up new opportunities for strategic investments in digital services, job creation, and entry into new markets with the support of global digital operator VEON. Today, Uklon operates in 27 cities in Ukraine, as well as in Bukovel, uniting over 100 active driver-partners.
