The scandalous situation related to transshipment violations of Ukrainian sunflower oil in the port of Pivdenny, to which the recent ElitExpert investigation, attracted the attention of the chairman of the board of directors of the AllSeeds group Vyacheslav Petryshche, who sharply criticized such practice.
We will remind you that recently it became known that one of the Ukrainian companies uses for the transshipment of sunflower oil and further export to European countries, the containers that were previously used for the storage of petroleum products, which can threaten mass poisoning.
"It started on the Danube, when in the first year of the war all cargo was transported through this region. At that time, few paid attention to the quality of terminals and their origin. Former oil depots were quickly cleaned and put into oil loading mode. Even Turkey, where some of these products went, turned a blind eye to it." Petryshche noted.
However, as the Chairman of the AllSeeds Board of Directors reminded, according to HACCP norms adopted in Europe after 2008, the use of former oil terminals for food products is strictly prohibited. "This is not just a formality. These standards are important for people's safety. Tankers are washed after oil products, but this does not change anything — residues remain that can harm health." he declared.
Petryshche also recalled the high-profile scandal of 2008, when traces of petroleum products were found in Ukrainian sunflower oil exported to Europe.
"That scandal left a deep mark in Europe. Imports of our products were completely stopped, and it took not only serious fines but also great efforts to restore confidence to restore exports. he added. — Especially since Europe is one of the main markets where we send our products. If we do not comply with European standards now, the consequences could be as catastrophic as in 2008. There can be no compromises in this matter."
Vyacheslav Petryshche also recalled how in 2008 he tried to negotiate with the European Commission to explain that not all companies in Ukraine violate the rules. "I personally spoke with representatives of the European Commission, together with European companies and associations, we tried to convey to them that many enterprises follow the rules, and that such scandals can lead to bankruptcies not only in Ukraine, but also in Europe. However, the answer was categorical: 'We don't care about your financial situation. If you don't follow our laws, you will be replaced by those who do.' It was a very clear signal. We were then simply pushed out of the market, and the consequences of this decision were extremely serious." Petryshche emphasized.
In his opinion, Ukrainian companies engaged in the export of sunflower oil need to take into account all international requirements, since non-compliance with these norms can endanger not only exports, but also the image of the country in the international arena.
"If the situation with violations is not resolved, it may lead to the introduction of strict bans on the use of oil terminals for transshipment of oil, as well as to a new crisis in the export industry of Ukraine." - emphasized the Chairman of the AllSeeds Board of Directors.
